DERRY, N.H. —
A federal bankruptcy judge has officially approved a multibillion-dollar settlement with Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family, the makers of OxyContin.
As part of the settlement, New Hampshire will get millions of dollars to help fight the opioid crisis.
Money from past settlements has helped nonprofit organizations such as The Upper Room , a family resource center in Derry. Executive director Brenda Guggisberg said the organization's mission is to support families who need a place to turn to.
"Prevention gets to youth before it becomes a lifelong habit," she said.
