NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Travelers heading in and out of the Nashville International Airport saw pilots from Allegiant Air carrying signs saying they are ready to strike.
The pilots said they are working without a fair contract. After negotiating for better pay for the past nearly five years, they claim that Allegiant has proposed pay rates that are below industry peers with subpar working conditions.
“It’s not just about the pay... It’s about the scheduling and the retirement... and this isn’t just about the pilots either,” pilot Joseph Pierri said. “The new contract is going to be benefit the growth of the company, a company we want to grow with and see them grow and succeed. If they grow and succeed, we grow and succeed.”
