DAYTON, Ohio —

A Dayton, Ohio, man accused of threatening to kill a United States Congressman pleaded guilty in federal court on Tuesday.

Jeffrey Dorsey, 60, was arrested in July after investigators said he left a voicemail on the Congressman’s office phone, threatening to kill the representative over potential Medicaid cuts. Advertisement

The US Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio’s office did not identify the Congressman who was threatened.

Dorsey pleaded guilty to making interstate communications with a threat to inure, according to investigators.

"The FBI takes all threats seriously," said FBI Cincinnati special agent in charge Elena Iatarola, at the time of Dorsey’s arrest. "Threats to harm others, including public officials, will never be tolerated."
