DES MOINES, Iowa —

The Des Moines Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find a missing endangered man.

Jose Ochoa Sr., 56, was reported missing to police on Monday and was last seen near 6th Avenue and Clark Street. Family members say he typically has contact with relatives or friends every few days but has not been seen since Nov. 6.

Police say Ochoa is living with dementia and may be confused or appear lost. Law enforcement and family efforts to locate him have so far been unsuccessful.

Ochoa is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall and about 195 pounds. What he was wearing when he was last seen is unknown.

Anyone who sees Ochoa, or believes they have, is urged to call 911.
