More than 80,000 power banks sold online at Amazon.com and in-person at other major retailers are being recalled for fire and burn hazards.
Last week, the Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall of more 83,500 Belkin power bands sold across the U.S. after receiving 15 international fire reports, one fire report in the U.S. and two minor burn injury reports.
In one case, property damage as a result of the malfunctioning power bank totaled $37,765.

“The lithium-ion battery in the power banks and charging stands can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers,” the recall states .
