The House voted overwhelmingly in favor of a bill Tuesday to force the Justice Department to publicly release its files on the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The bill passed the House 427-1, with the only no vote coming from Rep. Clay Higgins, a Louisiana Republican who is a fervent supporter of Trump.

Some House members shared their thoughts after voting approval, as they come out from the Hill.

“It sends a message that, Americans are finally sick and tired of a Epstein class, of rich and powerful men who thought they could get away with anything," said Rep. Ro Khanna from California. Rep. Khanna was one of the first members to first introduce and support the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

I do think when these files come out, from what I've heard from survivors, it's going to shock people that we allowed this to happen,” added Khanna.

“We have a terrible habit. Both parties have talking real tough. And then a couple weeks later, we move on to another shiny object. I hope they hang them," said Rep. Tim Burchett from Tennesee.

Moments after the House vote, Senate Majority Leader John Thune said his chamber will act swiftly on the bill.
