Two people died at logging sites in and around Lane County the week of Nov. 9, according to the Lane County Sheriff's Office.
The first fatal logging accident occurred Nov. 10 at 10 a.m., according to LCSO spokesperson Tim Wallace. A deputy responded to a logging site off BLM road 16-7-12.1 near Triangle Lake, northwest of Eugene. A death investigation is ongoing.
On Nov. 14, around 10 a.m., Lane County Sheriff's deputies responded with fire agencies, a Florence police officer and Douglas County Sheriff's deputies to a fatal logging accident at a logging site in the area of Esmond Creek Road in Douglas County.
Lane and Douglas counties' search and rescue teams recovered the deceased subject using rope systems. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation.
