Roblox announced new safety measures Tuesday following a lawsuit filed by Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman, who described the platform as a "playground for predators."
The company will be rolling out facial age checks on its gaming site soon, aiming to establish a new industry benchmark for safety.
Roblox reaches millions of users worldwide but has faced scrutiny over its safety protocols.
Last month, Coleman joined other state attorneys general in filing lawsuits against the platform, citing concerns that kids can create accounts without proper identity verification and predators can easily misrepresent their age, befriend a child and manipulate them to move conversations to other apps.
