The popular Zip Books program is returning to Santa Ynez Valley libraries on Thursday, giving local readers expanded access to books not typically available on nearby shelves.
The Goleta and Santa Ynez Valley libraries received $15,840 in Zip Books Grant funds from the California State Library for the 2025–26 cycle, enabling patrons in Buellton, Solvang, and throughout the valley to request hard-to-find titles delivered to their homes.
Beginning Nov. 19, cardholders at the Buellton, Solvang, and Goleta libraries — as well as users of the Bookvan — may request books not available in the Black Gold Cooperative Library System in regular print, large print, or audiobook-on-CD formats. Eligible books must cost under $50, and audiobooks on CD under $75.
