MADISON — The Wisconsin State Senate concluded its final floor session of 2025 on Tuesday, but Senate Democrats argued the 60+ bills before the chamber didn't address a top issue, affordability.

"The bills on today's calendar show us and the people of Wisconsin that Republicans do not care about affordability," Minority Leader Sen. Dianne Hesselbein (D-Middleton) said.

However, Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu defended the Republican agenda, specifically pointing to the school funding legislation he said is a cost-saving measure.

"We're doing everything we can to try to keep things affordable, ending the 400-year veto so taxes don't go up in the next, next budget process," Sen. Devin LeMahieu (R-Oostburg) said.
