EUGENE, Ore. -Firefighters encountered a vehicle fire on westbound Beltline while en route to a medical call on Tuesday morning and quickly extinguished the blaze in short order, according to Eugene Springfield Fire officials.

ESF authorities said that they discovered the vehicle fire at about 7:10 a.m. on Nov. 18. The vehicle was stopped outside of the travel lanes, but traffic was affected as crews worked to extinguish the fire. A battalion chief and a water tender were also dispatched to the scene.

The fire was quickly put out with no injuries reported. Authorities remind drivers to slow down, change lanes, and move over to create a safe space for emergency crews during roadside incidents.
