WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Dan Newhouse (WA-04) announced he joined the majority in the House of Representatives in passing H.R. 4405, the Epstein Files Transparency Act .

"While Jeffrey Epstein is dead, the fact remains that his victims were trafficked, their innocence exploited, and they deserve justice for the heinous crimes committed by this horrible man," said Rep. Newhouse in a release .

The legislation mandates the Department of Justice (DOJ) to release all unclassified records related to Epstein's investigation. This includes materials about Ghislaine Maxwell, flight logs and other involved individuals.

DOJ can withhold certain information to protect victim privacy and active investigations. Within 15 days of publication, DOJ must report to Congress on the released and withheld
