OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The holidays are known as the season of giving, but this season, that might be a lot to ask for from families in the metro.
“I think anytime there’s a call for help, and when you ask people to respond, that there is the potential for donor fatigue,” said Brian Barks, CEO of Food Bank for the Heartland.
That latest call for help being in the past couple of months, during the longest government shutdown in US history.
Brian understands that with the shutdown and pause of SNAP benefits, Omaha families had a large undertaking trying to keep their community fed.
