On Election Day, Democrat Kayla Santosuosso defeated her Republican opponent with 59% of the vote in a closely watched contest to succeed term-limited Councilmember Justin Brannan.

In January, she will represent neighborhoods in South Brooklyn, including Bay Ridge, Bath Beach, Dyker Heights and Coney Island.

Councilmember-elect Santosuosso joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to talk about her victory and her plans for office.
