FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — Arizona is continuing to get hit with wet weather and cooler temperatures in the High Country. When you mix major interstates with rain or snow, they can become very dangerous for drivers.
High Country freeways, such as Interstate 40 and 17, have been dealing with a constant drizzle of rain that turned into snow on Tuesday afternoon. The moisture is a welcome sight, but for drivers, it creates dangerous conditions.
“I think sometimes we may get overconfident in our abilities,” said Arizona Department of Public Safety Sgt. Kameron Lee. “But winter weather doesn’t care how much we’ve driven or what our confidence level is. There’s a lot of things that we just cannot control.”
