A Philadelphia man pleaded guilty to bank fraud after allegedly lying about his income on loan and credit applications while he worked as a Deputy Sheriff Officer, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office.

Darryl Wells, 34, is accused of filing eight loan and credit applications where he lied about his income saying he earned more than he did and even attached falsified paystubs, officials said.

According to prosecutors, Wells allegedly got $145,000 from financial institutions that he spent or transferred without paying back the funds between December of 2018 and January of 2019.

Wells pleaded guilty to bank fraud charges on Tuesday, Nov. 18, officials said.
