(KRON) -- A man who violently abused two young children in south San Jose was nabbed with help from Automated License Plate Reader cameras, police said Tuesday.
San Jose Police Department officers received a report of child abuse on November 16.
"The investigation revealed that the adult male suspect had strangled a toddler with a plastic bag and physically assaulted a young boy," SJPD wrote.
Officers found the man's vehicle on Monday using license plate reading cameras, and they conducted a high-risk stop. He was arrested and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of child abuse and child neglect.
SJPD described the man as a "violent suspect who thought it was okay to abuse two young children. The kids are now safe, and the suspect is behind bars."
