COLUMBIA, S.C. — There will apparently be a new city councilmember in Columbia while an incumbent on the council is getting a new term in office, based on unofficial results.
Numbers from Tuesday's runoff races show challenger Sam Johnson with a 56% to 44% advantage over incumbent Aditi Bussells with 100% of precincts reporting in the Columbia City Council At-Large race. In District 4, incumbent Peter Brown had 54% of the vote to challenger Julie Lumpkin's 45%.
Numbers will be certified later in the week.
