It came down to the final drive between Montgomery Catholic football and Tallassee in the quarterfinal round of the AHSAA flag football playoffs.

Much like the semifinal round in 2024 between the Knights and the Tigers, the score was only separated by six points with 58 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Tallassee forced Montgomery Catholic to punt the ball away, getting an opportunity to at least tie the game.

Tallassee quarterback Cheyann Easterling geared up for a deep pass to the middle of the field and Montgomery Catholic's Frances Rogers wasn't having any bit of it. Rogers held her ground in the middle of the field, leaped up and intercepted Easterling's pass.
