SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Around 3/4 of Woodbury County’s 400 employees benefit from the county health insurance plan.
Tuesday, the county board of supervisors approved changes to those insurance plans; that includes higher deductibles for individuals and families. But, it also includes more options to choose from when it comes to monthly premiums, which could *save* some employees money.
County leaders say the county has been operating its health plan at a deficit over the past several years and that changes needed to be made.
Last year, the county had $6.7 million in contributions to its health insurance plan, and paid out $8 million in claims.
