BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WTVM) - Kristin Nelson secured the Republican nomination for Alabama House District 38 on Tuesday, defeating Garrett Dixon in a special primary runoff election.
Nelson received 1,609 votes, or 54.45%, while Dixon garnered 1,346 votes, or 45.55%, according to unofficial results from the Alabama Republican Party.
The seat became vacant after former State Representative Debbie Wood relocated outside the district. Republican voters in portions of Lee and Chambers Counties participated in the runoff election.
Nelson will advance to the special general election scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026.
