LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -A unanimous vote Tuesday night pushes Lansing closer to deciding where its new mod-pod community will go.
The city bought 50 mod-pods earlier this year to give unhoused residents short-term stability. But the biggest question has remained where they will be placed.
Two city advisory boards got input from the public Tuesday night.
“I’m strongly, strongly against putting these in any of the city parks, I don’t think that’s an appropriate use of a park, I think it counters what parks are supposed to represent,” said one Lansing resident.
Concerns over parks, neighborhoods, and safety came up throughout the night, but others say the priority should be supporting people who need help.
