TWO men who were fighting for life in hospital after the weekend's horror crowd car crash continue to improve in hospital.
The 54-year-old man suffered critical spinal, hip and chest injuries, while the 34-year-old man suffered critical head injuries in Saturday night's disastrous demolition derby accident at the Walcha Showground.
Horrified onlookers, off-duty nurses in the crowd as well as showground and Walcha Motorcycle Rally organising personnel rushed to help the pair, as well as 11 others injured when the out-of-control derby car ploughed through the barrier and into the grandstand.
On Wednesday, Hunter New England Health confirmed to the Leader that both patients remained in hospital in John Hunter in Newcastle but both had improved.
