Eagle-eyed locals tuning into the Women's Big Bash League clash between the Hobart Hurricanes and Brisbane Heat might have noticed a familiar face standing out in the middle.
Six years after becoming the first female in more than 40 years to umpire in the Tamworth grade competition , Lauren McGill stepped into the WBBL spotlight for the first time.
Standing alongside Roberto Howard, it capped off what has been nothing short of a whirlwind last 12 months for the 24-year-old.
She's barely had time to catch her breath as she's ticked off milestone after milestone.
Originally McGill was slated to make her debut in this Thursday's game between the Hurricanes and Melbourne Renegades.
But about a month ago she was told she had been appointed for a couple more games.
