SALINE — A team’s season-long strength of schedule of who they played and beat shines most come postseason time. Scheduling early and often was a point of emphasis for the Flat Rock girls volleyball team. From their half dozen tournaments, to their pressure cooker of a regional last week, and the always-competitive Huron League slate sandwiched in between, the Rams came into Tuesday’s Division 2 state quarterfinal matchup as battle-tested as any teams left remaining in the playoffs.

“That’s been a focus for us,” Flat Rock head coach Morgan Delhey said. “We wanted to get out early and see some state-ranked teams, knowing already we play in a tough league. That’s always something we try and do in the beginning of the season.”
