SEATTLE — As winds whipped western Washington last November, a bus driver was caught in the chaos .

Chuck Anderson of Edmonds drives the 65 route for King County Metro. Starting in Shoreline, it heads to the South Park Station and eventually down to 35th and into the University District.

This routine route turned into a nerve-rattling experience on Nov. 19, 2024.

"The winds were picking up, and then we started losing power all along the way. And we'd go through areas that were so pitch black, and this was one of them," he told KING 5. "So dark. And so it was really eerie."

While driving along this road, Anderson's bus got stuck behind a car smashed by a tree. He decided to take action and evacuated his bus. He knew they would most likely be stuck by the storm fallout for hours and wo
