Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu’s advice for “young entrepreneurs” to marry and have children in their 20s has triggered a debate on marriage, career pressures and financial realities, after he responded to a post by entrepreneur Upasana Konidela.
In a post on X, Konidela shared her experience from an interaction with students at IIT Hyderabad, saying that more men than women raised their hands when she asked who wanted to get married.
“The women seemed far more career-focused! This is the new — Progressive India,” Konidela said in her post on X.
Responding to her post, Vembu reiterated his belief that early marriage is essential both socially and personally.
