LaPlace residents will experience a temporary loss of water as crews make emergency repairs to a ruptured water line, St. John the Baptist Parish officials said.
The outage began at 10 p.m. Tuesday and was expected to last about six hours.
Officials said once service is restored, customers will need to follow a boil water advisory until further notice. The Louisiana Department of Health is expected to lift the advisory sometime on Thursday. In the meantime, residents should bring water to a rolling boil for one minute before drinking, cooking, or brushing teeth.
