A Liberal Senator will forge on with her push for a Senate inquiry into the national broadcaster, after the ABC's boss fronted the National Press Club.
Victorian Senator Sarah Henderson, herself a former journalist, told SkyNews.com.au the ABC had failed impartiality tests “too many times” after Hugh Marks gave his Press Club address on Wednesday.
Mr Marks touted the ABC’s role in contributing to Australia’s success and cohesion, while promising the service takes “no editorial stand” due to its chartered commitment to impartiality.
He said the network had the “privilege and deep responsibility” of “owning the role of national storyteller in the public interest”.
