A ‘nasty’ drug dealer from Birmingham discovered after a city centre stop and search has been put behind bars.

West Midlands Police officers on patrol in Southside, the area which includes the Chinese Quarter, Arcadian and Gay Village, stopped a suspicious car in May.

Xiao Long Lin was a passenger and was wanted over an assault from the previous September where a man was attacked with a metal pole.

He was detained by police and his home in nearby Essex Street was searched.

There officers found cannabis, thought to be worth more than £12,000, in two suitcases in Lin’s bedroom.

He was then arrested for possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply.

Lin was also arrested over the assault where he had attacked a man outside a Birmingham apartment block.
