Angela Reading's family celebrates the Hindu Diwali festival at her Canberra home every year.
As part of festivities everyone attending creates rangoli — a traditional folk art where patterns are made on the floor using coloured rice, flowers, or powders.
For the past two years Mrs Reading's family has used one of the coloured sand products, which were recalled last week due to potential asbestos contamination , for their artworks.
They later swept the sand across and between the pavers in their backyard.
So when Mrs Reading read about the recall she was thrown into a panic.
"I was pretty upset," Mrs Reading said.
"We used it like builder's sand in between the pavers, so that makes it hard to remove.
"I rang WorkSafe ACT because, I thought, that's probably the people who would giv
