NEW YORK — Heading into the second half of Duke basketball 's game against Kansas in the Champions Classic, the Blue Devils held their largest lead yet against the Jayhawks.
Sophomore Isaiah Evans hit a deep 3 as time was expiring in the first half to put Duke ahead 41-33. The Blue Devils held Kansas to only two of their final 13 baskets in the period after the Jayhawks led for 12:37 of the first half, taking momentum with them into the locker room.
But that was the first 20 minutes.
A reverse one-handed slam by Flory Bidunga got things started for Kansas in the second half, and the teams traded blows from there as Duke responded with a dunk of its own from Pat Ngongba II.
