Megan Thee Stallion is set to testify at a federal courthouse in Miami regarding a defamation lawsuit she filed against Milagro Cooper, a social media commentator known as "Milagro Gramz." The lawsuit, initiated in October 2024, claims that Cooper engaged in a coordinated social media campaign to harass and defame Megan Thee Stallion, whose legal name is Megan Pete. This campaign allegedly occurred in collaboration with rapper Tory Lanez, who was convicted of shooting Pete in July 2020.

In the complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, Pete asserts that Cooper has acted as a spokesperson for Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson. The lawsuit alleges that Cooper has spread false narratives about Pete, branding her as a liar and an alcoholic. The complaint states, "Defendant spreads vicious and hateful rumors about Ms. Pete to Defendant's over 100,000 social media followers, causing Ms. Pete extreme emotional distress."

The lawsuit claims that Cooper's actions are part of a vendetta against Pete, particularly due to her testimony during Lanez's trial, which resulted in his conviction and a ten-year prison sentence. Although Lanez is not named as a defendant in this lawsuit, he has been asked to provide a deposition before the trial.

Cooper has denied any wrongdoing in her legal response to the lawsuit. Her attorneys filed a motion to dismiss, arguing that the allegations of defamation are exaggerated and that some of Cooper's statements are either true or protected as opinion. They contend that the claims made by Pete are not legally actionable.

The complaint also accuses Cooper of cyberstalking, promoting an altered sexual depiction of Pete, and intentionally inflicting emotional distress. In response to the lawsuit, Cooper's legal team has stated that the allegations are an overreach.

Lanez, who did not testify during his trial, was convicted in December 2022 of felony assault for shooting Pete in both feet during an incident in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020. He was sentenced to ten years in prison on August 8, 2023. His conviction was upheld by a federal court in Los Angeles on November 12, 2023.

Recent court records indicate that Lanez and his attorney were held in contempt of court for failing to answer questions during a deposition related to Pete's lawsuit against Cooper. They were ordered to pay a $20,000 fine for their actions during the deposition process.

In her lawsuit, Pete is seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages, as well as attorney's fees and other costs. She aims for a declaratory judgment to address what she describes as Cooper's unlawful behavior.
