A special event kicks off the lights and Holly Pine Lane at the Canton Garden Center at 6 p.m. Nov. 20.

Holiday lights at Stadium Park made the state of Ohio's list of 79 destinations for the best Christmas lights.

CANTON − Holly Pine Lane and Holiday Light Up in the Park were started decades ago but continue to evolve with special touches and additions.

Despite changes in the world and technological advances, Christmas wonder is timeless, said Evelyn Hronec, a member of the group heading Holly Pine Lane.

"Just to see people's faces when they walk in the door (at the Canton Garden Center), it's a magical thing," she said.

"I decided that the theme for this year is, 'Through the Eyes of a Child,'" said H
