JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) - The South Michigan Food Bank is hosting an emergency food distribution event on Wednesday to help people in need.

Volunteers are distributing meal kits, a la carte items, and emergency bags at the event.

Distribution of the supplies will take place from 10:00 a.m. to noon, or until the supplies run out.

The event is taking place at the American 1 Convention Center located at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.

The food bank will be joining the Jackson Police Department during their annual Turkey Drive-Thru , which will also be at the same time and location.
