How many workers should be onboard a New York City subway train?
That’s the focus of legislation now on the governor’s desk that would require at least two operators on every train.
Supporters — including the Transport Workers Union — argue the measure is essential for safety, while critics, including MTA Chair Janno Lieber, warn it would drive up costs and put New York out of step with transit systems worldwide.
TWU Local 100 President John Chiarello joined “Mornings On 1” Wednesday to share why the union is pushing for the mandate.
