NORTH CHARLESTON — During the early-morning hours of Nov. 17, a man broke into his girlfriend’s apartment and killed her. By mid-afternoon, police officers had arrested him in the woman’s stolen car, which he’d been driving some 200 miles away from the crime scene, police say.
Authorities in Kingsland, Ga., booked Luis Oscar Ocanto, 38, into the Camden County jail shortly after 1 p.m. He was charged with one count of being a fugitive from justice and theft of a motor vehicle.
North Charleston detectives want him extradited back to the Palmetto State to face a murder charge.
