MEDINA, Ohio -- With all of the opportunities for overeating coming up during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons, taking a hike or attending a program in one of the Medina County parks would be a good opportunity to burn off some of those extra calories.
The parks are open for independent outings or for naturalist-led group events.
Below is a list of December opportunities at the parks:
A Healthy Dose of Nature: 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 6, Oenslager Nature Center, 6100 Ridge Road in Sharon Township.
Hiking outdoors is good for you -- mentally and physically. Join a naturalist and volunteers for a 3- to 5-mile vigorous hike.
Dress for the weather, wear appropriate footwear and bring a bottle of water.
Ages 10 to adult. No registration required. Free.
