The Mississippi Drug Task Force seized more than a pound of ecstasy and a quantity of cocaine during a traffic stop Tuesday in Meridian, according to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies said the stop occurred Nov. 18 in the 1700 block of 24th Street. After further investigation, officers recovered approximately one pound — or about 1,500 units — of ecstasy, along with a half-ounce of cocaine.
Michael Edwards was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking of ecstasy and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, authorities said. His total bond was set at $400,000.
No additional information was immediately released.
