FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man was struck and killed by a semi-truck while walking on Highway 99 in central Fresno late Tuesday night, authorities said.
The crash happened just after 10:30 p.m. on the northbound lanes south of Clinton Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Investigators said the 25-year-old man was walking in a traffic lane when the big rig hit him. He died at the scene.
The truck driver stopped and cooperated with investigators.
Officials said the driver was not impaired.
Northbound Highway 99 was closed for several hours during the investigation but has since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
