PAWTUCKET – Longtime School Committee member Kim Grant is responding to criticisms from Pawtucket School Committee Chairperson Omar Reyes toward colleagues, saying it’s time to hit back at false statements from Reyes.

“This is not right or fair and is defamation of my character and others,” she said in a post. “I run because I care and try very hard to do what is asked of me, however, to be called out on untrue things is disturbing and uncalled-for. Just reach out (and) ask me the truth (rather) than judging me without knowing the real facts.”

Grant later told The Breeze it came to a point last week where she felt she had to speak up in defense of herself and other committee members after Reyes again decided to call a special meeting when not everyone was available to attend. This one
