Want to see exactly how your town’s New Jersey schools compare to those around them? Thanks to data from the state Department of Education , it’s easier than ever to find the answer.
Data released annually, called the School Performance Report , provides a way for parents to see how well schools are performing. The most recent data released last spring comes from the 2023-24 school year and breaks down the performance of nearly 2,500 public schools. (Look up your school’s rating and score in the chart below.)
In the data, each New Jersey public school is given a score from 0 to 100, called a “summative score.”
The overall scores for each school are calculated using standardized test scores, student academic growth, graduation rates and other factors, including chronic absenteeism.
