MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WBAY) - A national Marquette Law School Poll released overnight Wednesday shows more respondents right now favor Democrats than Republicans in next year’s midterm elections.

The survey polled 1,052 adults, including 903 registered voters and found 53% of people who say they’re certain to vote in the elections will vote for Democrats, compared to 44% who say they’ll vote for Republicans.

As conservatives control all three branches of federal government, concern over the cost of living remains people’s number-one issue, with 56% saying their biggest concern is either inflation or the economy.

75% disapproved of President Trump’s handling of the federal shutdown, which was the nation’s longest, lasting 43 days.
