NISKAYUNA — Throwing deep passes in the backyard is a lot different than having to complete them on the biggest stage, in a sectional championship game. Thomas Boler, the sophomore starting quarterback of the Niskayuna football team, has proven he’s more than capable of doing both.

Growing up, Boler remembers being able to heave the pigskin further than all of his friends and cousins. Enamored by this feat, the young Boler was drawn to the quarterback position, to the point where his eyes didn’t look much of anywhere else when he sat down to watch games on TV.
