Legendary San Diego Padres pitcher Randy Jones has died at the age of 75, according to the organization.
Jones won the Cy Young Award during his illustrious career and stands as a Padres Hall of Famer.
While we don't know a cause of death just yet, we do know what an impact he left on the Padres and the city of San Diego as one of its greatest athletes.
"With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, the Padres mourn the passing of our beloved left-hander, Randy Jones. Randy was a cornerstone of our franchise," a statement from the Padres read. "The CY Young Award winner, Padres Hall of Famer, and tremendous community ambassador, was a giant in our lives and will be greatly missed."
