October’s rain has downgraded the Cataraqui Conservation water-condition status to a level 2 from a level 3 for the area extending from Napanee to Brockville and north to Newboro.
The previous Level 3 low water condition was announced in early September following a very dry July and August.

According to the conservation authority, the month of October brought with it a normal amount of rainfall, just under 100 mm, which has started to alleviate some of the dry conditions the region has been experiencing.
“Stream flows in some creeks have recovered to within their normal range for this time of year, while others remain lower than normal but are showing signs of a gradual recovery,” explained Cataraqui Conservation’s watershed conservation technician, Nick Sterling, in
