Stanley Morgan , the Patriots ’ all-time leader in receiving yards, took another step into getting into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
On Wednesday, nine players in the Seniors category were announced as semifinalists for the class of 2025. The list was trimmed from 31 to nine.
Others who made the cut are: Ken Anderson, Roger Craig, Henry Ellard, L.C.Greenwood, Joe Jacoby, Eddie Meador, Steve Tasker and Otis Taylor.
The Seniors category considers induction into the Hall of Fame for players who retired at least 25 years ago.
Morgan’s last NFL game was in 1990. His 10,352 yards with the Patriots remains the franchise’s best. Rob Gronkowski is second on that list with 7,861.
The 70-year-old was a four-time Pro Bowler in 13 seasons with New England.
