Shedeur Sanders will get a chance to help the Browns snap their two-game losing streak.
Coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters on Wednesday that Sanders will be the starting quarterback in Week 12 when Cleveland takes on the Las Vegas Raiders.
Rookie Dillon Gabriel remains in concussion protocol.
Sanders, who was drafted in the fifth round by the Browns , made his NFL debut in Week 11 after Gabriel left the game. He went 4-of-16 for 47 yards and an interception. Sanders was also sacked twice in Cleveland’s 23-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
“I don’t think I played good at all,” Sanders told reporters after the game . “They gave me an opportunity. I didn’t do up to my expectations to get us a win. I have to take it on the chin.”
