LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- Community group Preserve Lakewood Schools came together earlier this year in response to the district considering the closure and repurposing of an elementary school.
While the Lakewood Board of Education ended up approving such action for Lincoln Elementary School, Preserve Lakewood Schools member Jennifer Schlosser said the grassroots effort wasn’t in vain.
“Our message to the community is that our voice matters and our votes matter,” said the 12-year Lakewood resident and parent to two current Lakewood City Schools students.
“Even though it didn’t go the way that we had worked for, it still matters that we pay attention to what our elected leaders are doing.
