INDIANAPOLIS (WNDU) - The Indiana National Guard said it is sending reinforcements to Washington, D.C. next month to “help increase safety in the nation’s capital.”
Indiana Gov. Mike Braun has authorized approximately 300 Hoosier National Guard soldiers to head to our nation’s capital in December at the request of the D.C. National Guard. According to our sister station WTHR , the guardsmen will be replacing soldiers and airmen from other states who have been mobilized since August.
“Hoosiers are proud of our Guardsmen, who are well-trained and fully prepared for this mission,” Braun said in a statement. “We are grateful for their service and support in our nation’s capital.”
Most of the soldiers heading to Washington are from units in Bloomington and Gary. To prepare for the mission,
